Depot hours are:
The Recycling Depot is also home to Ridge Meadows Recycling Society and the Volunteer Centre. For more information about the Volunteer Centre and RMRS Community Education, visit our Community link. Items accepted at the depot include: newspaper, magazines, phone books, cardboard, office paper, hard and soft cover books, bottle & jar glass, tin & aluminum cans, plastic bags and plastic household containers (#1, #2, #4, #5), pop bottles and milk jugs, beverage Tetra Paks, scrap metal, appliances & white goods, lead acid batteries, used motor oil from residents (not commercial), plastic oil containers and oil filters. Maple Ridge Recycling Depot is also home to a Product Care Plus depot taking leftover paint, solvents, flammable liquids, pesticides and gasoline. SPECIAL NOTES: GVRD Disposal Bans: Corrugated Cardboard, Newspaper and Office Paper. In 1997 the GVRD banned the disposal of corrugated cardboard in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. Newspaper and office paper were banned from disposal in 1998. RMRS accepts corrugated cardboard, newspaper and office paper at the depot and in our recycling pick-up services. Bottle Deposits: All beverage containers except milk or milk products can be returned for refund to a Return-It depot. For a list of local return centres call Encorp Pacific (Canada) 1-800-330-9767 or visit www.encorpinc.com. Residents who include beverage containers in their recycling donate them to the Society and refunds help offset the cost of recycling in Maple Ridge. Commercial Cardboard: RMRS purchases large quantities of cardboard brought in by commercial interests. Payment for cardboard is determined by weight and market prices. Leftover Paint: up to and including 5 gallon (18.9 litres) containers and aerosols. RMRS does not accept paints containing pesticides, unpressurized craft and automotive paints, industrial or two-part paint, roof patch, tars, grease, dyes, acids, brake fluid, glues and adhesives. PLASTICS: The following 4 types of plastic household containers are accepted. Plastic numbers are usually indicated in the 'chasing arrows' on container bottoms.
